OUR HISTORY
Our aim is to make our clients, and their spectators and guests feel the light.
We start each project by creating aesthetically captivating and on-budget designs.
Once in place, we use our networks to source and manage the equipment and labor to bring each design to fruition.
We take a Human Centric Lighting approach to improve the health and happiness of people at work and at home, a method that alters brightness and color temperature depending on the time of day, mirroring the light a healthy human circadian rhythm depends on. Our team consists of devoted lighting design and logistics professionals with over a century of collective experience.

Christien Methot

I am a lighting designer specializing in architecture and entertainment. Since 1996, my firm Design One Lighting has partnered with a wide array of clients such as RXR, MdeAS Architects, the US Open, Oscar de la Renta, Duggal Visual Solutions, Sage Realty Group, and so many more. Most recently, we lit the new facade of the Gershwin Theater, the NAPA Auto Expo in Las Vegas, and art galleries at Columbia University Teachers College. I enjoy collaborating with artistic and technical teams to make memorable installations. Lighting is magic and is my muse.

Weston Wetzel
Senior Lighting Designer
With 12+ years of experience in architectural and entertainment lighting, I thrive and specialize in high-concept design to enhance any space, structure, or stage through my creative lens of illumination. After earning my Master’s Degree from the University of Cincinnati and Bachelor’s Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, I have worked most of my career in NYC alongside and in collaboration with the union labor workforce of various trades in entertainment and construction, having expertise in production, fire safety, energy code compliance, and guidance in achieving LEED certification. I am inspired by art, technology, and passionate people and aspire to bring life to spaces and structures to reflect that passion through the art of illumination.

Project Coordinator
I joined Design One Lighting in April of 2022. I was brought on as Project Coordinator to help facilitate the lighting fixture supply branch of the company. I work directly with our customers and thoroughly outline their fixture and accessory orders, serving the interest of achieving their design. I also coordinate the fixture requirements and specifications for our own design and supply projects. After completing my BFA in Theatrical Design & Production at Drake University, I went on to complete my MFA in Lighting Design at the University of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music (CCM).
