Feel the Light is a short documentary produced by Founder & Principal Designer Christien Methot. Made at the height of the pandemic, the film was previously unreleased until now — and was awarded “Best Short” in the 2023 New York Metropolitan Screenwriting Competition & Film Awards.
Feel the Light reflects on light’s profound and often unnoticed effects on our environment and emotions. “In a profession that requires a great deal of technical knowledge, the softer side of lighting is often forgotten,” states Methot. Uniting his own point of view as a lighting designer with those of producers and architects, Methot explores how technical and artistic aspects come together to create magical moments of light. Methot used the time during the pandemic to conduct filmed interviews with longtime clients and collaborators about the importance of lighting on any application.
The film’s interviewees include COO of RXR Realty Todd Rechler; Principal Calvin Tsao of Tsao & McKown Architects; CEO of Overland Entertainment Leane Romeo; Principal Dan Shannon of MdeAS Architects; CEO of MJM Creative Chris Chambers; and TV and live event Executive Producer Michael T. Fiur.
